For years people who do not really understand the value of metadata correctly assigned to assets have bemoaned the extra time it takes to assign the correct data at ingest, at creative and most importantly at search levels.
This short presentation looks to explore the increasing value of digital assets as we move towards the next iterations of the web and beyond, and boy is it a tongue twister. As we move closer to the internet of things, the machines will gain deeper meaning of what it is to be human in digital worlds. So, we have to make sure the data we assign to these assets is a true representation of our human meaning.
Digital Asset management, well at least the best practices that should be assigned to DAM by way of the skill sets librarians and the archivist have been using for years. And now it would seem the marketing technologists professionals will lead us on the journey of exploring the real tangible and intangible asset values of capturing data at source and distributing it with context, meaning and measurable.
