DAM Foundation – Education Committee Mission Statement
The DAM Foundation is an organization of professionals working in the field of digital asset management. The Foundation will promote the advancement of Digital Asset Management by creating communities of interest and action around standards, career definition and development, education, best practices and innovation. The DAM Foundation will provide opportunities to capture and grow the intellectual knowledge contained in this thriving community
The Education Committee will support the DAM Foundation’s mission to foster a professional society of DAM practitioners through ongoing education and training.
The Education Committee’s purpose is twofold:
1) Define educational foundations for digital asset managers through standards, methodologies, ethics, best practices, and values.
2) Contribute to the continuing education, professional development and training of working professionals in digital asset management.
The Education Committee will:
- Promote a range of disciplinary and theoretical programs and global practices in graduate and continuing education to better serve the digital asset management profession.
- Facilitate the education and training of students who wish to pursue careers in digital asset management.
- Support the creation of a variety of educational programs
- Monitor the educational needs of members and member satisfaction with those programs.
- Support networking and collaborative relationships with DAM educators
- Coordinate and communicate virtual and in-person workshop offerings via social media
- Create and publish curricular materials to enhance education offerings
- Review continuing education courses for quality and to ensure they promote best practices and standards in digital asset management
